Michael is a distinguished attorney with a diverse background in tax and estate law. At the University of South Carolina Law School Michael was admitted to the Honorary Order of the Wig and Robe for excellence in scholastic studies and was a member of the South Carolina Law Review. Michael also has a Masters of Laws in Taxation degree from the New York University School of Law. He began his legal career as a Tax and Trial attorney in the Honors Program at the Office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C., before transitioning to private practice at a large law firm. In 1982, he established his own practice with a group of loyal clients.
Over the years, Michael has built a successful and multi-generational practice, serving a wide range of individuals and corporations in the areas of individual and corporate tax planning and sophisticated estate planning. He has also represented clients before various courts and governmental agencies, including the United States Tax Court, the Internal Revenue Service, the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and various Surrogate's Courts.
